DESCRIPTION:Join us in the Fall of 2016 for the 2nd California Adaptation Forum.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nConnect with a diverse audience of hundreds of local\, regional\, and state leaders who are committed to addressing California’s adaptation needs.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 2016 California Adaptation Forum will feature:\n\n\nA series of plenaries with high-level government\, business and community leaders\n\n\nA variety of breakout sessions on essential adaptation topics that reflect the diverse needs and challenges facing California\n\n\nRegional project tours highlighting adaptation efforts in Southern California\n\n\nPre-forum workshops on tools and strategies for implementing adaptation solutions\n\n\nNumerous networking opportunities where participants can share insights\, best practices and lessons learned about how to most effectively respond\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nForum Participants\nThe audience will include elected officials\, public and private sector leaders\, nonprofits\, community members and organizations\, and researchers from the following sectors: \n\nAir Quality\nAgriculture\nBiodiversity and Habitat Conservation\nEmergency Management\nEnergy\nEnvironmental Justice\nEquitable Development\nForestry\nOcean and Coastal Management\nPlanning and Urban Design\nPublic Health\nTransportation\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nForum History\nThe Local Government Commission and the State of California organized the first California Adaptation Forum in the state capital\, held on August 19 – 20\, 2014. The 2014 California Adaptation Forum launched the statewide adaptation conversation by bringing together 800 local\, regional and state leaders to form a community of action\, committed to addressing California’s adaptation needs. The program featured cutting-edge policies\, projects\, programs and partnerships\, as well as tools and strategies that address the challenges community leaders face in developing and implementing adaptation solutions. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event is being hosted by the Local Government Commission. \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe California Adaptation Forum is an affiliate forum of the National Adaptation Forum
