DESCRIPTION:UCLA CalFresh Initiative Enrollment Fair \nWhen: October 9th\, 10am-4pm \nWhere: Student Activities Center\, Conference Room 4 \nThe CalFresh Initiative is excited to announce that it will continue quarterly enrollment days and weekly office hours this academic year. CalFresh is a great way for students to increase their own food security and it is beneficial for them to sign up early in the year. \nThey will be hosting a large enrollment fair on October 9th\, where students can get up to $192/mo if they qualify for benefits. The Department of Public Social Services eligibility workers will be present to enroll and interview students at the same time. \nThey will additionally have weekly office hours on Mondays Fall Quarter starting October 15th – December 3rd from 8:30am-4pm in SAC 105E. \nCheck out their prescreen tool and their appointment booker

DESCRIPTION:MindWell Pod and the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior Present: “The Foundations of Eudaimonia” with Dr. Peter Whybrow \nWhen: October 9th\, 4-5pm \nWhere: Semel Auditorium\, UCLA \nRegister here \nDrawing upon his recent book\, The Well-Tuned Brain\, Dr. Whybrow explores the roots of human flourishing – of tranquility and enjoyment. Tranquility does not come naturally to the human mind: eudaimonia is a highly cultivated state achieved through hard work and self-discipline. This talk will discuss the challenge of a life well lived\, blending reason and passion to promote individual wellbeing and a sustainable human future.  \nThis talk will kick-off the call for nominations for the 2019 UCLA Eudaimonia Awards. The UCLA HCI Eudaimonia Award is an annual recognition award given to members of the UCLA community\, past or present\, who exemplify a life full of purpose and meaning.
