SUMMARY:25th Annual Travers Conference on Ethics & Accountability in Government: Can California Meet the Challenges of the 21st Century?
DESCRIPTION:California confronts a set of interlocking policy challenges that threaten its future vitality. The state has long been a magnet to people across the U.S. and the world seeking economic opportunity and a high quality of life. But as the price of housing has spiraled out of control and as climate change has multiplied the risks posed by drought and wildfires to communities\, the state must develop new strategies that safeguard its future. This conference will bring together academic experts\, policymakers\, and advocates for a discussion of both the underlying problems facing the state and potential solutions. \nIn addition to a lunchtime Keynote by State Controller Bette Yee\, the conference will feature three panels: “Safeguarding California’s Communities in the Face of Climate Change\,” “California as Energy Leader\,” and “Addressing the State’s Housing Crisis.” \nREGISTER HERE \nZoom option will be available for those that cannot attend in person.

SUMMARY:Earth Day Fair 2023
DESCRIPTION:UCLA’s annual Earth Day Fair is held by E3’s Earth Month Campaign. This year\, the theme is Conservation and Biodiversity\, with an aim to educate the community about ecological issues and preserving natural habitats. \nThis is an activities fair where students can find organizations that they may be interested in and participate in educational activities\, games\, and giveaways to learn more about sustainability and environmental work on campus. To incentivize participation\, there will be passports that students can check off to be entered into a raffle\, along with giveaways leading up to the event. \nWe would love for you to join us in dedicating April to advocate for the right to a clean\, safe\, and healthy world for us and our future generations. Any environment or sustainability-focused organization is welcome to table at the Earth Day Fair. You will be provided 1 table and 2 chairs\, and a tablecloth if requested. If you’re interested in tabling\, please fill out this form as soon as possible.
