SUMMARY:Student PIRGs Civic Leadership Training Program - Activist Boot Camp
DESCRIPTION:Building on a successful training program that has provided skills and training for thousands of students over the last 50 years\, the Student PIRGs’ Civic Leadership Training Program will provide students the training they need to run effective campaigns in their community. Students who complete the program will receive a badge of completion on LinkedIn and opportunities for future leadership during the school year. Trainings and meetings will happen virtually. SUMMARY:Outdoor Volunteer Day at Abalone Cove Reserve
DESCRIPTION:Join the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy (PVPLC) to volunteer on a breathtaking coastal reserve helping restore wildlife habitat. Students can receive community service hours. \nPVPLC will be planting native shrubs and/or removing invasive weeds in order to improve habitat for protected wildlife species. \nThis event will meet at the entrance of Abalone Cove Reserve: 5970 Palos Verdes Dr. South\, Rancho Palos Verdes\, CA 90275. \nThis event will be outdoors\, so please wear closed-toed shoes\, and be sure to bring bug spray\, sun protection\, drinking water and a snack. Please also be prepared for mildly strenuous hiking to reach planting locations.  \nPlease note that events may be cancelled due to weather conditions. Please check the event page at https://volunteerhub.com before leaving for the event. \nAll volunteers under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign and complete their release before they can volunteer.
