SUMMARY:Webinar: Readying Southern California Edison’s Grid for Our EV Future
DESCRIPTION:As California navigates through a clean transportation transition – electric grid availability and resiliency is top of mind for fleets that look to electrify. Electric utilities play a monumental role in ensuring reliable power to customers when and where needed. \nJoin as expert speakers from Southern California Edison (SCE)\, Tesla\, and GNA dive into the challenges and opportunities associated with preparing the grid for an EV future. You’ll hear first-hand how SCE is readying the electric grid\, improving grid resiliency\, and learn how fleets/EV charging infrastructure providers can play an active role in this transition. \nAttend this webinar to learn about: \n\nGain insight to grid planning 101\nLearn how SCE customers can play an active role in grid planning process\nHear first-hand about SCE’s Transportation Electrification Grid Readiness (TEGR) and Power Service Availability (PSA) initiative\nUnderstand the interconnection process of EV projects\nConnect directly with SCE to learn about its program and resources available to support fleet electrification for medium-and-heavy duty fleets\n\nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Building for Heat Resilience in Urban Areas
DESCRIPTION:A majority of the population around the world\, including nearly 80% of the U.S. population\, reside in urban areas. As average temperatures rise and extreme heat events become more common due to climate change\, the built environment and lack of vegetation in cities combine to make that heat even more intense for city residents. With heat being the number one natural disaster killer\, mitigating its impact for city residents\, especially children and the elderly who are most vulnerable\, is critical. \nStanford scientists and urban experts will discuss a range of options for addressing heat challenges in cities that address cooling needs while also considering energy demand and pricing\, including: new building materials and practices\, tree canopy and increasing nature\, and planning and land use. \nREGISTER HERE
