DESCRIPTION:Join Michiel Bakker\, President of the Culinary Institute of America and former Director of Google’s Food at Work program\, as he delves into ongoing challenges and strategies for change in the American food system. A pioneer of transformative food programming\, Michiel led the development of Google’s renowned food culture—celebrated for its emphasis on community\, sustainability\, and the promotion of joy\, health\, and well-being. Drawing from his extensive expertise working with leaders across sectors\, Michiel will discuss the complexities of systemic change\, its elements\, and actionable strategies for creating lasting impacts. \nMichiel’s talk will be followed by a conversation with Pete Angelis\, Associate Vice Chancellor\, UCLA Housing & Hospitality; Paula Daniels\, Executive Director\, Los Angeles County Office of Food Systems; and Mary Sue Milliken\, James Beard and Julia Child Award-winning Chef and Co-owner of Mundo Hospitality Group. Pete\, Paula\,and Mary Sue will share their strategies as changemakers. The conversation will be moderated by UCLA’s Dr. Amy Rowat\, the Marcie H.
