Sustainability Master Plan
In our centennial year, UCLA is undertaking a sustainability master plan that will create a bold vision for a sustainable, healthy, and resilient future for UCLA.
The plan will span our curriculum and research, operations, and engagement and outreach programs and integrate the many areas of sustainability.
UCLA’s campus serves as a living laboratory for sustainability where we demonstrate policies, technology and practices that can be a model for the region and the globe. You can hear straight from our students doing applied research on campus through the Sustainability Action Research (SAR) program and learn about other examples of Applied Campus Research.
UC Policy on Sustainable Practices
UCLA and the UC system have a comprehensive Policy on Sustainable Practices that covers all aspects of the way the campus operates including:
- Green Building Design
- Clean Energy
- Climate Protection
- Sustainable Transportation
- Sustainable Building and Lab Operations
- Zero Waste
- Sustainable Procurement
- Sustainable Foodservices
- Sustainable Water Systems
- Sustainability at UC Health
- General Sustainability Performance Assessment
We report annually on progress towards these goals on the 2021 UCLA Sustainability Report website. This website also includes the progress of all the other locations in the UC system. To see data from previous years, please review the former annual Reports on Sustainable Practices.
