Conservation Innovations in Ecuador – Talk and Discussion

July 31 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Lucia and Norman are leading Galapagos Islands and marine conservation experts both in the realm of NGOs and government. Norman has a background in law and is a former elected member of Ecuador’s National Constituent Assembly and President of the Governing Council of the Galapagos and he was a key political figure for enshrining the groundbreaking “Rights of Nature” framework in Ecuador’s new Constitution. Lucia is leading on innovations for social justice approaches to Galapagos conservation, regenerative tourism and addressing marine plastic pollution and has been attending the global Plastics Treaty talks.

This promises to be a rich discussion, covering topics from Galapagos conservation innovations to the Rights of Nature legal framework with a small group, and it’s a great opportunity to spend time with these two luminaries.
