Panel – Toxic Truths: How independent journalists are exposing industrial pollution that corporations want hidden

October 29 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Vertical rectangular graphic with watercolor top and bottom border around black background with square headshot images of 5 people and "Toxic Truths" square at center

Industrial pollution is driving a triple crisis: a warming planet, poisoned ecosystems, and sick communities. Confronting these challenges requires evidence of the decisions behind the damage, and newsrooms are increasingly stepping up to investigate and hold those responsible accountable.

Hosted by Red Canary Magazine, The Examination, and UCLA Center for Occupational & Environmental Health, this event will bring together journalists, scientists, and others committed to protecting the health of our communities and our planet.

Join an engaging discussion with Nicholas Schou, Will Evans, Dr. Yoshira “Yoshi” Ornelas Van Horne, Dr. Claire Chaumont, and Joe Donnelly as they explore how independent journalists and scientists are uncovering industrial pollution and the decisions that can allow harmful exposures and impacts to persist.
