This free two-day virtual K-12 teacher professional development workshop will focus on environmental issues in China and Central America to align with themes of “Environmental Transformations” in world history curriculum under the CA History Social Science (HSS) Framework. This PD workshop aims to provide area studies content and pedagogy training to K-12 teachers in California to help with the classroom instruction of these themes. The workshop will give educators an opportunity to hear lectures from scholars to gain more historical knowledge, work with model lessons developed by teacher leaders, and receive training for designing lessons to align with the HSS Framework.
