On Monday, Mayor Bass released her proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year, which begins July 1. After her budget is released, it moves to the City Council’s Budget Committee for consideration. Councilwoman Yaroslavsky is Chair of the committee, and will lead that process. Over several weeks, every department is reviewed, there are budget hearings, and changes are made based on the Council’s priorities.
