Move Out Resources

Moving out? With some simple planning, you can help not only reduce your carbon footprint, but also give your gently used household items and furniture a loving home. UCLA students will have an opportunity to donate unwanted and gently used household and bulky items, including furniture as part of the Sustainable Move Out efforts. Partnering with local nonprofits, LA City Council District 5, LA Sanitation, and campus partners, UCLA will host events in the North Village and on the Hill on campus.

UCLA students who reside off campus will be able to donate and dispose of their unwanted bulky items at several locations throughout the North Village. These drop-off locations will provide opportunities to donate items to nonprofit organizations. They will also serve as trash pickup zones for those items that cannot be repurposed. Volunteers will be on hand to help determine if items can be donated or need to be discarded.

UCLA students who reside on-campus will be able to donate small housing items for reuse across the Hill.

Flyers and additional info coming soon.

To dispose of electronic waste, universal waste, and some hazardous waste you can drop them off at L.A. run S.A.F.E. center housed on campus at 550 Charles E Young Drive West (at the corner of Strathmore & Charles E Young Drive West). Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 8am – 2pm, with e-waste only accepted on Saturdays. More info here.
