On Campus BruIN MoveOUT

Wednesday, June 11, 2025 – 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

UCLA students who reside on-campus in residence halls will be able to donate small gently used dorm supplies, clothes, old electronics, and more for future Bruins. Residence Halls will host donation boxes in lobby areas and in front of select dorm buildings for donation of your gently used household items. The items collected on the Hill will be made available for new students to purchase when they move into the dorms or apartments in the Fall. Students donating items will also receive a voucher for a discount at next Fall’s thrift sale. (View flyer for more information).

To dispose of electronic waste please visit a Los Angeles run S.A.F.E. Center. The UCLA S.A.F.E. Center is temporarily closed. Other locations can be found at this link.

Why Should I Donate?

Reducing and efficiently managing our waste is one of the ways we can reduce our environmental footprint. As a community, we can get closer to our zero waste goals by using lower-waste alternatives and changing our habits. Each of us has the power to make a difference in our everyday lives!

Rethinking where rubbish ends up is not just about protecting the environment — it concerns people as well. Landfills are often located in lower socioeconomic areas, with waste potentially close to homes. One person’s trash can be harmful to another, making zero waste a social justice issue.

Keeping our communities clean is important, not just in terms of appearance, but to ensure all people can safely access the sidewalks and streets

While you may have no further need for the items, if they’re in good condition, others could give them a new home.
