Screening of Acid Forest

October 2 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Set in the Curonian Spit, a scenic peninsula in Lithuania edged by the Baltic Sea and a freshwater lagoon, this satiric documentary follows tourists who flock to the region despite the dying, leafless trees of its ancient forest now overtaken by thousands of cormorant birds and their acid-fortified feces. The film observes the human species as it interacts with this disturbing environment, resulting in responses as multi-layered and bizarre as the history of the forest itself.

2018. dir: Rugilė Barzdžiukaitė. DCP, color, 63 min.

Additional screenings at 12:30 PM and 3:30 PM
